These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of cohort.run ("Service", "we", "us"). By registering for or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a teacher account. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@cohort.run if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
cohort.run provides a live lesson and assessment platform for educators. Features include lesson creation, live student sessions, cohort management, AI-assisted content tools, and form-based assessments. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
You agree not to:
As a teacher, you act as a data controller for any student personal data you enter into the platform (names, IDs, responses). You are responsible for:
cohort.run processes student data on your behalf as a data processor. Our Privacy Policy describes the technical and organisational measures we apply.
You retain ownership of lesson content, questions, and materials you create. By uploading content, you grant cohort.run a limited, non-exclusive licence to host and display it solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
The Service offers a Free plan and a Pro plan. Pro plan fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are displayed at checkout. You authorise us to charge your payment method on the recurring billing date. Fees are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund Policy.
You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing support@cohort.run. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any educational purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, cohort.run's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered teachers by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
